Olivia's story is one of a lonely little life in her first year. She was ignored and left to sit in a cage with food shoved at her when it was thought of. Olivia was never held or loved and was not allowed out of her tiny cage to play. Olivia was dumped by her family at a local, county "kill for space shelter" in Melbourne. When Olivia came to us, she was painfully shy and extremely skittish. If you opened her cage, she would run and hide in the furthest corner she could find. Olivia would scream with fear if you tried to touch her or pick her up. It has taken us a full year to work with her and gain her trust that people can be loving and gentle. When we would first let her out for playtime, she would sit in the very spot where we placed her and not move. Now she plays and jumps and runs about the playroom. Olivia still tends to keep to herself when she is out but likes to have company while she is playing. She likes to cuddle but is still learning that it is o.k. to be picked up and carried for a very brief amount of time. Whenever we do this it is always with praise and a treat to let her know she is safe. I feel once Olivia is in a home where there are no other rabbits she will feel less threatened. Olivia came from a backyard breeders home. Olivia needs someone very special in her life. Someone who will care for her and love her just as she is. Someone who will be gentle and loving. Someone who will protect her and show her that she is safe and that she can trust humans once again. Olivia needs someone who wishes to continue what we have started. Someone with a big heart who knows her worth and is looking for a dear little girl to love. Someone who is willing to give her the life she should have had all along. Our adoption fee is $70.00. Our bunnies are spayed/neutered, have a follow-up wellness exam prior to adoption, and a molar grind if needed. We do have an adoption contract.
